Absolutely! Both are great for the low and slow cooking method, but a tagine goes on or in an oven and of course a crock pot just has to be plugged in.For cooking, can a crock pot replace a tagine?
A crock pot will do the same thing that a tagine does, but the food I cook in my tagine has a different flavor, somehow. Food seems to be more dimensional in a tagine, and the only difference I can think of is that the vegetables I put on the bottom of the tagine brown more and have an earthier, more caramelized, almost smoky flavor. For cooking, can a crock pot replace a tagine?
I suspect it's worth trying; a pressure cooker might also work as well.
