He says there's no way it can be repaired. But I'm just hoping there's a genius out there who may have an answer to the problem.
Any suggestions on what could be done?Is it possible to repair a crack in a tagine?
i am not too sure if there is any truth in this but I have heard that boiling cracked terracotta dishes in milk can help seal the cracks. The other thought I had was that you could perhaps take it to a potter and see if he or she could put a new clear glaze over it and re-fire it
I would definitely consult with a pottery shop to check to see if it can be repaired, if so repair it and put it on a shelf for the memories....There is a potter in Oklahoma called Frankoma Pottery that specializes in terra cotta pottery, perhaps they can help you. They are located in Sapulpa ,Oklahoma. I hope this helps and that the pot can be repaired.......Frankoma has a website and phone numbers are listed there. Is it possible to repair a crack in a tagine?
No it can't be repaired so don't cook with it as hot food spilling everywhere is dangerous. I do know emile henry has dishes which can be cooked on stove and oven and it has small cracks in it and can be safely used. However i think you should not use this dish anymore for safety reasons.
Some terra-cotta聽聽pots can be repaired by simmering the cracked part for a long time in milk. Milk contains casein which is an ingredient in Elmer's glue
I know it works on Chinese sand pots, Mexican %26amp; Egyptian bean pots
I highly doubt it. If it were me, I'd move it to a display shelf, crack at the back, and remember fondly the memories. If you continue to use it, it will likely broaden the crack.
