What is a good in-expensive family cruise for 2010.?

my family and i are planning a cruise for summer of 2010 for a three or four night cruise and a party of three. my kids are going to be 15 and 12. we like the idea of the nickelodeon cruises but they are 7 nights and are to expensive. we will be departing from california around the los angeles, san diego, san fransico area. the nickelodeon cruise would be great if we can find a discount. thank you!!!What is a good in-expensive family cruise for 2010.?
The problem with 3- or 4-day cruises, especially on Carnival, is that they tend to be even more "party-hearty" than the longer Carnival cruises, so there may not be as much of a family atmosphere as you might like. But Carnival will the the cheapest cruise you're likely to find from the West Coast. A summer cruise, especially one with an added attraction such as TV themes, will always be more expensive than a "regular" cruise. You won't find much difference in price from one agency to another, because the cruise lines in effect control how much they can be discounted. One agency may offer more "perks" than another, however.



Unless you have cruised before, be sure you work with a travel agent. And you should do some research ahead of time. Your library or bookstore has books on cruising that will give you info on the basics and on the many, many options you'll need to decide upon.
carnival has 3/4 night cruises starting at 200 pp for an interior room most of the time plus tax and port fees. we can do a 4 night for about 1200 with prepaying tips. sometimes it is less depends on if my family decides on an ov or interior cabin.

I went to Carnival Cruise Line's website (just because their website is the easiest to me) they have 3 night cruise to Mexico for $299. Or 4 night to Mexico for $309. Both leaving from Los Angeles.
