Has anyone ever been? Did you enjoy the time you spent there? Any recomendations of things to do there? Anything would help! ThanksNew England aquarium in Boston?
I have been there and loved it. If you like aquariums you will love this one. They have a huge fish/shark tank a pretty decent penguin display. At least when I was there they hade laser pointers that display fish shapes on the bottom of the tank and you can watch the penguins swim after them.
They have a great iMax movie on whale too.
Check out their web site..

There are also whale watches on the pier outside. If you go at the right time of year you can do those. They are not part of the aquarium though.
Have fun!!!!
I went recently to the aquarium with my nephews (1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds) and they both really, really enjoyed it. It is very cool to visit but will only take you a couple of hours to see everything so you may want to plan other activities if you are making a day of it.New England aquarium in Boston?
We go every once in awhile. If possible, plan your visit ahead of time so you can get a discount bc it can get very expensive. We live near Worcester so we reserve passes thru the Worc Library, with the passes we get in for only $4 each (I think its usually around $20 each.) If you live in Mass and your library is part of CMARS than you can login with your library card # and reserve passes here https://cmars.cwmars.org/patroninfo~S201
When we go, we drive to the train station in Newton and take the T in. The kids love taking the subway. When we are done at the aquaruim we walk around Boston for a bit, there are some great seafood restaurants near the aquarium. Then we take the T back to the car.
Good luck and have fun!
I've been many many times over the years, and it is always a fun time. It's a really good aquarium, and if you can plan accordingly they have different penguin shows that are worth watching. There's also an IMAX theater which usually has some sort of under water theme. . . .It won't fill up an entire day, but you can easily walk from there to the North End, Fanueil Hall or along the waterfront.
It is soooooo awesome!!! You should visit it, most definitely!!! I'm not into these sorta things but it is soooo cool!!
Been there. In of itself, it's a nice place. You can cover it in a couple hours. The penguin habitat is the highlight. They also do a presentation at the top of the aquarium of the wildlife below. The IMAX theater next door is something to consider.
Compared to aquariums I've visited (Chicago's Shedd, Baltimore's National), New England rates pretty low, however. Not many exhibits, not very large.
