What are the usual water conditions in San Francisco Bay?

I'm goin there in next week and was wondering what the water is like in the bay

ie: choppy, calm etc.

i do get sea sick but if the water is on the calmer side im usually good

im probably gonna take the ferry sometimes like to go on the alcatraz tour and stuff so i was wondering if the water is usually rough or not(i've heard its calm but wanted to make sure)

thanksWhat are the usual water conditions in San Francisco Bay?
depending on the wind, it could get a little choppy, but compared to the ocean, it is very calm, sort of like a big lake. because the tour boats are so large (red and white fleet, blue and gold fleet, hornblower), you have the option to walk around the deck and i strongly doubt you would get sick. the rides really aren't that long. i myself am prone to motion sickness, but the bay has never affected me.

on the other hand, if you were going deep sea fishing a couple miles off the coast, bobbing up and down with a fishing pole in the same spot, then yes, you would probably get queasy like everyone else does. the bay is much calmer than the ocean though. just remember, walk around, breath in the fresh air, and you will be fine. for added peace of mind, you can stop off at one of SF's 508 Walgreen's stores and pick up a dose of chewable dramamine.

have fun!
It depends on wind conditions and whether the tide is going out or coming in.What are the usual water conditions in San Francisco Bay?
Muggy with and a bit of marine layer in the morning. Typically it burns off and the water is not choppy inside the bay.

The ferry Alcatraz is not bad at all.
