How is the Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel?

We are going to be staying there for a couple of nights in June, we also want to go to the Sagebrush Ranch Horseback Rididng Tour, has anyone done this and what was it like? How is the Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel?
My husband and I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year and are moving there this summer.

We have been just about every hotel on the strip at one time or another. And the Tropicana is an older hotel on the strip. But, for it's age, it's not a bad hotel at all.

The rooms are not bad, they aren't like if you stay in one that costs you $300 to $400 a night. But, they are clean, and decent and I would pay $10 more per day and get a room with a balcony. You have to ask for this at check-in and they just charge another $10 a day. But, its worth it. Ask for a balcony over the pool. As they have some that look over the street, but, they pool balconies are the best. The pool by the way is wonderful. It's clean, very pretty, fun and comfortable.

They also have some good places to eat. And go out in front every morning and every night and hit the two large wheels. Spin for tickets and all kinds of things.

We won tickets to go to the Magic Show for FREE. And that was fun. Also, they will also give you coupons for all kinds of other discounts and freebies in the hotel. Also, there are good places to eat in the Tropicana. There is a coupon that you get when you spin the giant wheel that allows you to get a Steak and Crab dinner for around $14. And it's a super nice dinner. Lots of Crab too. They don't scrimp.

Also, you are on the most busy corner on the strip. There are catwalks that take you right to MGM, Excalibur, and New York New York. As well, when you get over to Excalibur, you can take the Tram over to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. And there is tons to do just in all those casinos to start with, so you are in a prime location. Especially if it's your first time.

Also, when you get to the MGM buy train tickets and you can ride the train, (monorail) from one end of the strip to the other. This will actually save you time and money. It's way more expensive to ride the cabs around town. And you can access any hotel from that train. We always buy a pass for 5 days or whatever, as then you can go anywhere you want on the strip.

Check out everything. It's all so fun.

Here is a site about things to do in Vegas.

Check the first one out for other attractions and activities besides the FREE stuff. There is lots to do in Vegas.

As far as the Horseback Riding Tour, we have never done that. (We ride Harleys), so we just haven't done that one yet. We will sometime. So someone else will have to give you feedback on that one.

I am sure that if you like horses, and the outdoors, then you will like it.

Whatever you do, have fun and don't gamble too much. It's not all what it's cracked up to be and you could spend your money on a fun show or something. Or a great meal, there are lots of those to be had in Vegas as well.

Have Fun.........!!!!!!!!!!!!
The hotel is middle of the road as far as Vegas hotels go. The Tropicana is an older lady. She's turning 50 though so I bet they will have some fun promotions for guests tied to the anniversary.

As for location, it's in a wonderful place! It is on the corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. The other three casinos on that corner are the MGM, New York New York, and Excalibur. Easy walking distance to many other hotel/casinos and attractions.

I'm sure that you are going to have a blast! How is the Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel?
LAME tour!

the HOTEL IS AWESOME
I like the Trop, yeah its old, but so what . Great location, awesome pool. When you check in ask for a upgrade to a tower room. The Trop turns 50 this weekend, thats saying something for a strip casino!
THAT PLACE IS ONE BIG DUMP !!!! I would not stay there if you payed me!! The place has a very strong mold smell. They should implode it. Do not waste your money, stay anywhere except there.
eww it looks old. i dont like it. stay at the bellagio. now that would be cool.
The Tropicana is older thus the rooms are as well. Their beds are not very comfortable and the hotel staff is not very accommodating either. If you are not very picky about where you stay or more importantly how you sleep then it isn't awful. For a low price (probably the same price come to think of it) you could stay at Ballys or Harrahs. They are much, much, much nicer.

I haven't done that horseback riding tour but I have done some in Red Rock canyon. I love doing that....June will give you great weather on your trip. Have fun!
In my opinion the hotel is old and smokey but I only stay in the best on the strip.
