Me and my boyfirend are going to Pittsburgh for the day for my birthday. We're planning on going to the Pittsburgh Zoo then maybe either Southside or Waterfront for shopping and dinner. Which would you recommend or is there another place? We have never been before.Where to go in pittsburgh?
I highly recommend visiting The National Aviary and riding the Duquense and Monongahela Inclines. The National Aviary has many beautiful birds on exhibit and interesting shows and behind the scenes tours. I took a penguin encounter behind the scenes tour and it was excellent. I was able to pet an African Penguin that hopped on me and get my picture taken with it. I learned plenty about penguins during the hour program.
The inclines are fun to ride and the view from the top is fantastic. At the top of the Duquense Incline, there is a fascinating museum and small gift shop. Plenty of beautiful views of Pittsburgh. Make sure to take your camera.
