Places to stop from Cincinnati, OH to Charleston, SC?

My boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Charleston, SC. We are looking for cool places to stop along the way. We're interested in history, antique shops, animals, and of course the occasional beverage ;)

Hi there! Are you driving down from Cincinnati to Charleston? If you pass through Asheville, NC, the Biltmore Estate is awesome!



In Charleston, SC, be sure to visit one or more of the plantations. There are several of them. We've only visited two so far, Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation.

How long will you be in the area? I'd suggest taking a horse-drawn carriage ride tour of the downtown area. Downtown has a lot of shopping and amazing restaurants, like 39 Rue De Jean (french food), Basil (thai), Poogan's Porch (amazing brunch), and many others.Places to stop from Cincinnati, OH to Charleston, SC?
